Development of e-Learning Content Accessibility Guidelines

New developments in ICT Information have brought changes in the global environment, which, based on computers and network resulted in the development of information-based society that effectively applies knowledge and creates value, E-learning has become the de facto alternative methods of education not only for life-long learning but as a learning aid in the newly emerging developments in educational environments that continuously demands for self-developments and necessary improvements in efficient knowledge management. E-Learning has already become the primary educational method or a tool to provide educational opportunities to learners in all levels of the society. Specifically, primary school students in Korea utilize e-Learning through Cyber Honme Learning, secondary school students utilize e-Learning through CHS and EBS, and for all other learners through Cyber universities, corporate training, and life-learning curriculum that are provided with e-learning. For this research, first we tested usability of current e-learning in hgiher education provided by different sectors, and use of automated accessibility tool to evaluate cyber home learning contents for primary and secondary students. Based on these we developed an e-learning content access gudielines for our stages with guidelines, which is based on current data available in the are of web and digital content accessibility. The guideline carefully considered digital contents and effects of online learning based on classifications of contents, display, interface, and learning strategies from the four stages of Plan, Do, See, and Pedagogy.
