요양시설 입소 노인 가족의 가족참여: 현상학적 연구

초록

This study was to explore and describe the experience of family involvement of family caregivers of elders in nursing home. Participants were eleven family caregivers of elders in nursing home. Individual in-depth interviews were used to collect the data in 2016. All interviews were audio-taped and verbatim transcripts were made for the analysis. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Family involvement in nursing home was organized into three categories, five theme-clusters, and 14 themes. Three essential themes emerged from the analysis ‘do one's duty as a buttress to the elders’, ‘accustomed to unfamiliarity’, ‘Unbroken vicious circle’. The findings in this study provide deep understanding and insight of family involvement of family caregivers of elders in nursing home. And it should help in the development of interventions tailored specifically of family caregivers in nursing home to support their role adaptation and ultimately improving their well-being and quality of life.
