사회통합을 위한 다문화 미술교육의 개념에 관한 기초 연구

초록

In the era of globalization, the issues of social integration and diversity have come a primary educational agenda in our society. The focus of the researches and policies on social integration and multicultural education have expanded to the area of humanities in search for ways to co-exist beyond differences. In this respect, this research aims at clarifying the values and concepts of art education that would provide the foundation of social integration. The literature review discusses on the direction of the discourses and policies in order to explore the meaning of social integration in Korean context. In addition, the researches on multicultural education and multicultural art education are surveyed to shed light on the key concepts of art education that require further emphasis at this moment. Based on these theoretical discussion, this study proposes the direction of multicultural art education for social integration and the framework that would guide the specific contents and methods of multicultural art education. The significance of this study can be found in that it provides justification for the value of art education in globalized society.
