윤동주 시의 어휘 사용 빈도에 따른 시어 네트워크 연구

A Study on the Analysis of Poetic Word Network according to the Frequency of Word Use in Yun Dong-ju’s poetry

초록

This research aims to study the entirety of poems written by Yun Dong-ju as included in Yun Dong-ju Collection which complies the complete works of Yun Dong-ju. Using computational linguistics, the word network of the poet was analyzed with focus on the word “I,” the most frequent and most important word in Yun’s poems. Examining the poetic diction, the word most repeatedly used as a subject or object was found to be pronoun “I,” followed by nature-related words such as “sky” and “wind.” Among the verbs and adjectives, “go” and “come” frequently appeared, along with “is” and “is not.” Analyzing by periods, the use of the word “I” was consistently high in all periods. This shows that Yun wholy reflects his consciousness and sentiment into his diction. Though technically, postpositions were the most common part of the speech in the poems, they were inadequate in providing a grasp on the life and thoughts of Yun. Therefore the pronoun “I,” the next common word, was selected to provide insight into the poet’s mind. Focusing on this word, a word network was drawn with the words in cooccurrence. The words that are shown to have high co-occurrence with “I” was “heart,” among subjects and objects, and “too much,” among verbs and adjectives. This is an example of how Yun Dong-ju strictly applied moral standards on himself while personalizing the hardships of the Korean people at the time. Thus, Yun’s poetic diction directly relays Yun’s burdens, pain, and rigorous introspection to the reader.
