Design and Development of Learning Analytics Based Visualization Tool to Improve Interaction in Real-time Online Zoom Class

초록

Zoom has often been used in remote class, but it is difficult to directly observe interactions or level of participations, and learning patterns in real time. If the instructor can grasp the learner's class participation and interaction level in real-time, the quality of the class can be improved. In this study, a learning analytics-based visualization tool was designed and developed to improve the interactions, as a result of this study, developed a tool that can be objectified through real-time data analysis. This visualization tool notifies the instructor of the results of data analysis through real-time chatting. The tool shows the learner's camera and microphone on/off status, the learner's level of participation in the presentation, the learner's video and microphone running time, keywords mentioned in the presentation, the level of team activity, and the quiz score. And after class, students can check their level of participation and level of interaction through a comprehensive visualization tool. It is expected that this will improve the interaction problems that appear in real-time online Zoom class and increase the quality and satisfaction of class. Future research will provide and utilize the learning status of learners from a more long-term and integrated perspective. It plans to upgrade such as using AI technology and building online data services.
