한국의 인구고령화와 노동생산성에 관한 연구 －일본의 경험을 바탕으로－

초록

In Korea, the speed of population ageing has been very fast since 2000 compared to Japan which had already experienced population ageing. This study investigates the effect of population aging on labor productivity by showing the relationship between age-specific labor force and labor productivity. The productivity of the 50s age group is estimated to be the greatest in Korea, while the one of the 40s age group is to estimated to be the greatest in Japan. In Korea however, the 40s age group do not seem to be effective in productivity. Both countries have the 60s age group decrease their productivity. Based on the speed of population ageing, Japan’s labor productivity will decrease after 2020. A turning point in labor productivity of Korea would be behind the one of Japan because the age group which contribute the most in labor productivity differs from Japan.
