Efficitent Multimedia Traffic Scheduling Using Adaptive Deficit Round Robin in IEEE 802.11 Wireless Networks

A new scheduling approach is presented, named as to ADRR(Adaptive Deficit Round Robin) for Wireless Lans modifying the DRR strategy. The performance of this modified scheme and its interactions with prioritized traffics are evaluated by software simulation in terms of the throughput and the delay. The ADRR scheme achieved throughput enhancement for all the flows and also achieved fairness for lower priority flows.
