초록
This research is a qualitative case study that analyzes the internalization process of interactions that occur while appreciators view of art in a museum. The research site is the Philippe Parreno’s <Voice> exhibition at the Leeum Museum of Art. Due to the nature of the exhibition, which mainly consists of installation art, we focused on how the space is involved in the appreciation of visitors when they interact with work. The research questions are as follows, First, how do appreciators perceive space when interacting with art work? Second, how is space used in the appreciator's interpretation of art work? Third, what is the meaning of appreciator's experience in the exhibition space? Qualitative analysis is conducted by generating data through participant observation of the research participants' exhibition viewing process, semi-structured interviews, and visual images. The Result showes that visitors explored the work through space, perceived the space anew through the work, and formed a harmony between the work, the space and the audience. This research will broaden our understanding of visitors to art museums and can be used as a resource for museum education.
