국내 교육공학 분야 질적 연구 동향의 질적 탐색

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the qualitative changes in qualitative educational technology studies, and propose future directions for their maturation. To that end, this study derived data from the Journal of Educational Technology and the Journal of Korean Association for Educational Information and grouped them into the following categories: characteristics of authors, study titles, methods, purpose, involvement of the researcher and evaluation. The data were both temporally and spatially analyzed. This study identified a temporal trend toward understanding qualitative studies as a methodology, which consists of the following stages: the data stage; the method stage; and the methodology stage. Spatial restrictions stem from a unique nature of educational technology studies, where the vast majority of studies are quantitative. With regard to the spatial restrictions, this study identified the following trends: persuading quantative researchers to justify qualitative studies, supporting the objectiveness of studies through the quantification of quality and returning to quantitative studies by proposing passive conclusions. The future maturation and growth of qualitative studies in educational technology requires methodological approaches to qualitative studies, developing review criteria suitable for qualitative studies, teaching qualitative methodologies, and ensuring flexible acceptance of qualitative methodologies. The acceptance of qualitative methodologies requires the efforts of the academic community as a whole, which will also drive the qualitative growth of the community.
