초록

This study aimed to develop the Korean Anxiety about Aging Scale (KAAS), reflecting Korea’s socio-cultural context and the multidimensional nature of modern society. Based on prior research and focus group interviews, 80 preliminary items were drafted. After content validity review and a pilot test, 49 items were retained and surveyed among 4,254 adults aged 20 and older. Data from 2,155 participants were used for exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and 2,099 for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The EFA yielded a nine-factor, 44-item model, and CFA confirmed good model fit as well as convergent and discriminant validity. Cronbach’s α values indicated strong reliability for the total scale and subscales. Multi-group CFA further supported the scale’s applicability across age groups. The implications and utility of the KAAS are discussed based on these findings.
