Design optimization of a magnetic actuator incorporating the concept of the hybrid analysis method

This paper proposes a new design optimization method of the magnetic actuator based on a hybrid analysis method. To achieve a design method that is both accurate and efficient, the equivalent circuit method and the finite analysis method are combined. The magnetic vector potential, which can be obtained from lumped circuit parameters, is used for setting the boundary conditions of the finite element domain and calculating the topological design sensitivity. A simple design example of the magnetic actuator is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
