초록

Factors that are affecting enzymatic activity were investigated in this work. It is generally recommended that enzymatic treatments be carried out at optimal pH and temperature for efficient treatments to occur. For application of enzymes to textiles, however, reaction conditions should not be based solely on optimal enzyme conditions for all kinds of processes because there are many factors that can affect enzymatic activity in textile processing. In the case of bio-scouring, treatment pH, time, temperature, and procedure should be optimized for the type of treatment method: Exhaustion method or cold-pad-batch etc.. The transition of enzyme activity was especially important for the enzymatic preparation of cotton by the cold-pad-batch method because the enzymatic reaction occurs in a totally different environment compared to the treatment in bath. The results showed that the enzyme loses its activity drastically when the enzyme was contacted solely with surfactant.
