조선 유학자들의 동기감응론 인식

초록

In this study, an awareness about the Identical-Chi sympathy theory of Confucian scholar in the Joseon Dynasty that has been a solid foothold and a controversy causing subject of Feng shui is focussed. To the Confucianist in the Joseon Dynasty who strictly adhered the doctrines of Chu-tzu(朱子, 1130~1200), the Identical-Chi sympathy theory was not fully acceptable but also deniable. So they straddled the fence about Feng shui. They could not accept it outwardly. Because they had contradicted the Identical-Chi sympathy theory, they were in a dilemma about the problem which would have made their scholar wrong. The thought had overwhelmed the Confucianist throughout the Joseon Dynasty period. However, the Confucianist internally accepted some parts of the Identical-Chi sympathy theory. Even the idea did not exactly match with fortunes of Feng shui, it worked separately. In a hierarchical society system, it was necessary that people at that time had to get into the government service and had to find a way to be upwardly mobile to live like a human being. With this reason they tried to make a breakthrough by Feng shu. Especially, the Feng shui for grave site was very attractive. People at that time recognized it as a spiritual and magical power that human could not understand. Moreover, the ancestor worship thought had been derived from Confucianism. In conclusion, the Feng shui for grave site explosively demanded all over the society. It also has another value to modern people to complement barren humanity with the Identical-Chi sympathy theory of Feng shui.
