초록
A discussion text in an academic conference is an argument prepared in advance by a debater to discuss a presentation at an academic conference. Academic conferences vary in format and discussion depending on the major. This study examined the structure, content elements, and vocabulary expressions of discussion papers at academic conferences for each major to provide basic data for the educational content of discussion papers for foreign academic learners with various majors. An analysis of 180 academic conference discussion papers from humanities, social sciences, and arts and physical education departments, which have a large number of international students, showed that there were differences in text structure and content distribution by major. In addition, it was found that there were differences in the types and proportions of linguistic expressions, such as referential, honorific, question and suggestion expressions, depending on the content elements. This may be because the academic characteristics of the major and the social and contextual demands of the academic community are reflected in the text. The results of this study can be used as basic data to prepare educational content for academic learners who find it difficult to write discussion papers and wish to discuss them in accordance with their own academic views and regulations.
