Poly(lactic acid, PLA) belong to the family of aliphatic polyesters commonly made from α-hydroxy acids. PLA is a thermoplastic, high strength, high modulus polymer used in sutures and dental, orthopedic, and drug delivery systems. Electrospinning is a unique technique for ultrafine fibers with diameters in submicrometers. Electrospun webs have high specific surface area and high porosity so that they can be applied to membranes, scaffolds, sensors etc. Indeed, electrospinning of polymers has been remarkably explored and it is known that solution property, one of the variables to regulate electrospinning, is a very important factor. In this study, it was investigated the electrospinnability and surface characterization of PLA with the co-solvents such as chloroform (CF, CHCl3)/methanol(Me, CH3OH) and CF/ethanol(Et, C2H5OH ).
