Traction control of parallel hybrid vehicle using power distribution

초록

In this paper, traction control algorithm for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is proposed. Compared to the conventional vehicles, HEV can use motor as a brake. The slip controller regulates driving torque using sliding mode control to regulate the wheel slip ratio. The power distribution controller controls the engine and the motor output torque to meet the desired torque decided by slip controller. When TCS is on, the motor operates as a generator and reduces the driving torque. Since this method operates without hydraulic brake, it is possible to minimize the energy loss due to friction braking. Proposed control strategy is validated by simulation using CarSim and MATLAB/Simulink.
