윤동주 시의 보편성과 특수성 - 저항시인을 넘어서

초록

As the former territory of Koguryo and Balhae, North Gando is the place where the life and history of our ancestors were unfolded. Yoon, Dongju`s language is thoroughly from Yongjeong, North Gando. He died on 16 February 1945 and his ashes was carried in his father`s bosom and buried in hometown Yongjeong. His long journey from North Gando to Pyongyang, to Seoul, to Tokyo, to Fukuoka ended when he came back to North Gando after death. His family engraved the tombstone with `Tomb of Poet Yoon, Dongju`, and this became the moment when Yoon was born again as a poet at last. Until now, Yoon, Dongju has been remembered as `a poet of resistance.` After the liberation from Japan, he was interpreted as an example of integrating and expanding our nationalistic passions with a poet Lee, Yuksa. In other words, our political and ethical superiority has found grounds from a few exceptional individuals like Yoon, Dongju and a campaign of cultural memory insisting to inherit their legacies consistently has been expanded through the institutional frame. A project of `oblivion-remembrance` trying to remember some exceptional lights from history rather than exposing extensive pro-Japanese activities is reflected in every corner of educational practices. Among them, Yoon is a most representative one and the way we remember him is taken not from the induction of his poetic world, but from the direction of proving the ethical aspects of our history. In this way, Yoon, Dongju was created and distributed as the symbol of a poet of resistance representing our modern history. Now, we need to remember the universal ethical values of `love` and `shamefulness` and his `resistance`, an existential behavior caused by them, and this is totally different from standardizing him as `a poet of resistance.` Through this, we could meet the poet`s transparent eyes and languages taking its identity crisis as an opportunity for self-discovery. Then, his eyes and languages will become the good nourishment awakening souls of people being inclined towards narcissism and providing cures. In this way, Yoon, Dongju could escape from the text of resistance in a narrow meaning and be remembered as the text with everlasting universality, unifying life and death from the broader aspect of arts.
