자원봉사와 기부활동의 결정 요인에 관한 연구

초록

This study examines the determinants of volunteering and giving using the 5th Korean Welfare Panel study. Although a series of studies have been conducted about volunteering and giving as an effort to attract private resources to the nonprofit sector, most of the studies focus on socio-demographics and psychological aspects of volunteering and giving. This study adds contextual, pro-social behavior, and political variables to increase our understanding about the patterns of volunteering and giving. The results found that determinants vary depending on three different dependent variables. Specifically, socio-demographic variables seemed to explain most of the participation pattern of volunteering and giving, while the number of volunteering and the amount of giving were predicted by contextual, pro-social behavior, and political variables. This study suggests a number of policy recommendations as a conclusion.
