초록

Conventional communication systems have been implemented using DSP(Digital Signal Processing)and/or FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). We propose a scheme of using GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) instead of those two conventional devices. GPU, a high-speed parallel processor and numerous powerful arithmetic logic units, is adopted for the signal processing of physical layer required for the parallel processing. Noting that CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture) based on C language provides SDK(Software Development Kit) for the modem application of GPU. In this paper, we evaluate the performance for 2x2 SM(SpatialMultiplexing) MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) WiMAX Physical Layer Using GPU.
