학부교육 선진화 사업 성과지표에 대한 메타평가연구

초록

The large-scale project called Advancement of College Education (ACE), supported by the Korean government, has just started to resolve the chronic problems in higher education, in particular quality assurance in a knowledge-capital society. This study conducts meta-evaluation of the performance index of the ACE project for the purpose of inspecting success models and drawing a detailed map for improvement in the evaluation system. Public documents from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology were analyzed to scrutinize the performance index. Proposals from selected universities were investigated as well. The performance indices were classified into seven educational components: teaching competency, learning competency, curriculum, teaching-learning support system, school affairs management, physical environment, and educational achievement. The results of the analysis indicated that the selected universities pursued competency-based and performance-oriented education, but neglected the influence of educational environment. The multidimensional analysis results suggested that the major portion of the performance index dealt with resource management, but relatively disregarded market activities and academic performance.
