말러의 음악에 나타나는 토픽의 다중성

초록

In this paper, Mahler's frequently used musical idioms were sorted out and classified as his own topics in the category of the traditional topic theory. The classification was based on his Lied set with the text from Des Knaben Wunderhorn; he has used the spirit of the poems as his essential elements in his entire life. Also the meanings and interpretations of these topics were examined in his symphonies. The symphonies analyzed in this work was limited to his early ones nos. 2-4, in which the elements of the Lied were transplanted either reusing whole songs as one movement, or recasting the song material into a purely instrumental form. The study will highlight the multiplicity of Mahler's topics created or modified through their contextual placement and manipulation in his music.
