초록

Haebanggo(海防考) of Sadaegorae(事大考例) is a book written by Dasan Jung Yakyong which deals with processes and methods on treatments of China drifting ships on southwest beaches of Josun in case by case. At that time, castaways of China drifting ships which often appeared on island zones in southwest beaches brought about many social problems. Most of these castaways had to return to China according to certain processes that was changeable by times. Before China government removed an embargo, castaways were sent to Beijing under escort, but after the removal of the embargo, if a drifting ship was remained intact, it was returned to China by sea. Josun government indemnified them for the goods or hardwares of a drifting ship in money. As time goes by, castaways were sent to only Bongsung. Likewise the treatments of castaways and drift ships became enfeebled. Because these situations of drifting frequently happened. Besides Yugu(琉球) and other foreigners, except Japanese, were sent to Beijing by land without special exception. In this way, rules and processes on the treatments of castaways were working between Josun and China at that time. Although drifting was an accident, it become a field of cultural exchange unintentionally. Documents related with drifting include several clues which were made by contacts of other cultures. Studies on drifting is still at an early stage. From now on, through examinations about each document, more details will be inquired.
