미술 중심 통합문화예술교육이 유아의 창의성과 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향

초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the arts-centered integrated arts and cultural education on preschoolers' creativity and sociability. Forty-four children aged six were recruited from two kindergartens in Seoul and grouped into two. One group (treatment group) was given 10 sessions of Arts-Centered Integrated Arts and Cultural Education and the other group (control group) was given free play sessions for the corresponding time. The arts-centered education program in this study was originated from the Arts and Cultural Education Program based on visual arts developed by Seoul Cultural Foundation (2010) and modified to be used for preschoolers. Characteristically, the arts-centered education program in this study incorporated various arts and cultural domains and increased the proportion of the play. For the efficacy of the program, the levels of creativity and sociability were measured on two time points, before and after treatment, and the scores were compared between treatment and control groups and between before and after treatment time points. Upon completion of the program, treatment group showed statistically significant improvement in all of the creativity and sociability dimensions. Although control group showed significant increase in the scores on the fluency and flexibility creativity dimensions and on the problem-solving sociability dimension, the size of improvement in each of these dimensions was relatively small as compared to that of treatment group. These results suggest the positive effects of the Arts-Centered Integrated Arts and Cultural Education Program on preschoolers' creativity and sociability.
