사할린-홋카이도 철도 연결 사업의 가능성 분석과러-일 물류협력의 방향

초록

In this paper, we have evaluated the contents and the feasibility of railway connection discussions between Sakhalin and Hokkaido. In addition, the implications for Korea (company) are derived from the recent logistics cooperation trend which is being promoted between Russia and Japan. As a result, the Sakhalin-Hokkaido railway connection is not economically feasible considering the cost, technical difficulties, the transportation ability of JR cargo, and the weakening of railway competitiveness due to differences in export and import cargo between the two countries. In addition to participating in the modernization of Russian Far East ports in terms of logistics, Japanese companies are also investing in the production of specialized products handled by the port, thereby strengthening competitiveness in terms of securing volumes and streamlining logistics processing. Due to the North Korean factors, the North-South Korean and Russian railway connection projects have virtually ceased. Therefore, it is necessary for Korean companies to consider participating in development of Russian Far East port in connection with development of minerals, agriculture and agricultural products processing industry, and processing of marine products. In addition, by participating in port operation with direct investment in port modernization or equity acquisition, it can contribute to efficient logistics through prompt customs clearance of import and export of Korean products.
