A new design for monodisperse, hybrid silica spheres

초록

The successful preparation of monodisperse, hybrid silica particles through a simple, one-step chemically controlled procedure is introduced. In former studies, almost all of the hybrid silica materials were formed using a substrate (silica particles), which were coated via chemical interaction of organic materials. On the other hand, the novel mechanism is proposed the non-substrate preparation with highly monodispersity. In here, three different approached were employed to modify the colloidal hybrid particles. According to the first technique, the particles were prepared highly menodispersity. It can be explained the self-hydrolysis of organosilane in aqueous solution. The second technique involved high loaded organic functional groups on the particles. In the case of this procedure, organosilane was used without any other precursor. The last approach utilized that this method has an ability to control the particle size of the product by varying the concentration of the precursor or reaction temperature. A detail investigation by scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscopy, optical microscopy, and TGA was performed in order to elucidate the morphology and properties of the hybrid silica particles. These novel architecture open up new opportunities for the use of industrial applications.
