이공계 대학생의 진로결정과정에 관한 탐색적 연구

초록

The research objective of this paper is to investigate the career decision making process of the science and engineering college students. Particularly, we attempted to find out the important factors that influence the career preparation decisions by the 3rd year students in science and engineering colleges because the 3rd year is an important stage for career preparation process. A survey was conducted by using questionnaire on 450 students. The results from the analysis show that the 3rd year college students consider three factors important in their career preparation process, and they are grade points average, foreign language capability and the internship experience. Also, it was found out that the two factors of gender and military service influenced the students' choice between employment and further study for graduate degrees. Those who finished military services tended to choose employment while the others without military services tended to choose advancement to graduate studies. Lastly, the gender turned out to be an important factor that caused the difference in career path selection behavior among the students.
