대학생 경영컨설팅 인턴의 일터에서 실행공동체 참여를 통한 학습에 대한 질적 사례 연구

초록

This study is about learning through participation in community of practice of college students during their business consulting internship. We found following findings as a result of qualitative case studies. First, business consulting internship provided learning and growing experience to the students. Business consulting workplace community enabled ‘learning alone’ and ‘learning together.’ Due to the position of intern, the process of solving problems by oneself increases learning autonomy and made ‘learning alone’ possible. Also, students agonized and solved the facing problems with the community members and practiced ‘learning together’. Second, student’s intern activity can be explained as participation in communities of practice(CoP). As CoP, the workplace of business consulting has existing culture that has been set by the workers. Like this, the participation in workplace is not just infecting propositional education but can be a learning source to achieve learning from social participation in community. Finally, internship can be explained as ‘legitimate peripheral participation’. The ‘legitimacy’ that group community authorizes means officially approving the status of ‘intern’ and to giving the authority to experience and learn the work. These authority helps the student to feel sense of belonging in the group and to keep the cooperative relationship with other members. However, interns are at ‘peripheral’ place of having limitation in full participation. Intern’s peripheral position did not go through recruiting process and due to the fact that they cannot approach to the center of the group is stays in ‘incomplete legitimacy’
