초록
In this study, numerical analysis was conducted to predict PM2.5 concentrations in a subway tunnel based onthe operation of an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) installed in the supply room. Under outdoor PM2.5concentrations of 20.6 µg/m³, the predicted PM2.5 concentrations in the exhaust rooms exhibited goodagreement with experimental results, with an error margin of less than 11%. Using this validated numericalmethod, the PM2.5 concentration distribution in the tunnel was assessed under varying outdoor PM2.5concentrations (15.0, 35.0, 75.0, and 110.0 µg/m³) and different ESP removal efficiencies. When the outdoorPM2.5 concentration was 75 µg/m³ or lower, an ESP removal efficiency of 64% effectively reduced PM2.5concentrations in the tunnel near the platform. As outdoor PM2.5 concentration increased, the impact of ESPuse on the PM2.5 concentration reduction in the subway tunnel became more pronounced, resulting inimproved PM2.5 reduction rates throughout the tunnel. However, higher ESP removal efficiencies were requiredwhen outdoor PM2.5 concentrations exceeded 110 µg/m³. These findings are expected to provide valuableguidance for effectively operating ESPs to reduce PM2.5 concentrations in subway tunnels.
