초록
Introduction Minimally invasive spine surgery is the mainstay of spinal surgery. Recently, image-guided spine surgery system has been used for several percutaneous procedures. And also a robot system was introduced for pedicular screw insertion. But there are still some limitations of operation performance. We introduce a new robot system for percutaneous spinal surgery. Materials and methods The system is composed of four parts; biplane fluoroscopy, planning system, SCARA type assistive robot, and specially designed surgical instrument. It is designed by medical doctors and engineers who are working in the Center for intelligent surgery system supported by a grant of the HAN(Highly Advanced National) Project, Ministry of Heath & Welfare, R.O.K.. Biplane fluoroscopic images gives 3-D coordinates of surgical targets to the assistive robot. Especially, we can decide the entry point, target point and the path on the planning system. These informations is delivered to the robot. It moves to the planned coordinate and guide the surgeon`s surgical procedure.
