Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrosilylation of Olefins with Planar Chiral Monophosphine Ligands

Planar chiral (Arene)chromiumtricarbonyl monophosphine ligands were prepared by asymmetric ortho-lithiation as a key step to introduce planar chirality to arene ring. Palladium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrosilylation and oxidation of styrene derivatives and norbonadiene with these planar chiral monophosphine ligands gave the corresponding chiral diol in good yields.
