Adsorption behavior of alkane thiols on the surface of single walled carbon nanotubes
초록
Adsorption behaviors of sulfur-containing molecules are investigated on the surface of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) with vibrational spectrophotometer. Butanethiol(C4H9SH), hexanethiol(C6H13SH), nonanethiol(C9H20SH) and dodecanethiol (C12H25SH) molecules are adsorbed on a single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) film, and infrared spectrum is measured as a function of molecular chain length and concentration of the adsorbed species, respectively. Alkanethiol molecules are thought to be adsorbed on SWNT surface strongly. All alkanethiol molecules show their strong vibrational peaks at 2856 and 2927 cm-1 corresponding to the CH2 symmetric and asymmetric stretching bands, respectively. We conclude that sulfur-containing alkanes are absorbed on the defect site of SWNTs through the experiment which can remove defects of SWNT. Also we compared electrical properties of pristine SWNT with those of defect-removed SWNT by methyl acrylate. with IR, XRD, XPS, FE, UV, I-V curve.
