청소년의 팬덤활동과 삶의 만족도 간의 관계: 스마트폰 의존도의 매개효과와 자아존중감의 조절효과

초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of smartphone dependence and the moderated mediation effects of self-esteem in the relationship between fandom activities and life satisfaction among adolescents. Data was drawn from waves 1 to 5 of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 (KCYPS 2018), following the first-year middle school cohort. Hayes' (2013) PROCESS Macro Model 14 was applied separately to each wave. The results are as follows. First, fandom activities did not have a significant direct effect on life satisfaction but showed a negative indirect effect through smartphone dependence. Second, self-esteem had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction. Third, the index of moderated mediation was significant only in waves 1 and 2, whereas it was not significant through waves 3 to 5. These findings indicate that smartphone dependence consistently mediated the relationship between fandom activities and life satisfaction, whereas the moderated mediation effects of self-esteem were evident only in waves 1 and 2. Based on these findings, this study discusses the role of smartphone dependence in the relationship between fandom activities and life satisfaction and provides educational and counseling implications for supporting healthy digital participation and smartphone self-regulation.
