초록

Themotropic liquid crystalline polymers (TLCPs) have been considered as high performance engineering plastics because of their high mechanical properties, excellent dimensional stability, and good processability. Compared to conventional thermoplastic, TLCPs undergo spontaneous local alignment in the melt state to form a liquid crystalline phase, leading to their excellent physical properties. However, they exhibit poor weld strength and strong anisotropy in mechanical properties. The addition of fillers into TLCPs has been used to overcome these disadvantages in many researches. Also, it increases in the thermal endurance, flexural and tensile modulus. Moreover, using fillers may save the material cost and could reduce the thermal and mechanical anisotropy. In this research, glass fiber filled TLCPs (gLCPs) and gLCP/silica composites were prepared by melt compounding at various glass fiber and silica contents to investigate effect of two kinds of fillers in composites based on TLCPs. Then, rheological and mechanical properties of composites based on TLCPs were investigated.
