The success or failure of a project holds huge significance in the development and achievement of a corporation, which is why corporations form and manage a project organization. There are many academic researches on organizational achievements from the organizational perspective. Of them, organizational commitment is a theory about organizational achievements, and its research began in the 1960s. Various industries and organizations have done research on organizational commitment, but there is a considerable lack of research on it with a project organization, which is a temporary organization formed with limited resources for a project goal. Recognizing these backgrounds, this study set out to test whether organizational commitment would bring achievements even in a project organizational environment with different characteristics. The study targeted project participants in a project organization environment and examined project management capabilities including scope, schedule, and cost management as independent variables, project management achievement as a dependent variable, and organizational commitment including affective, continuance and normative commitment as moderating variables. They were put to the validity analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis to figure out moderating effects. The findings show that affective commitment increased the effects of scope and schedule management on project management achievement. Cost management, however, had no moderating effects between them. Continuance commitment had negative moderating effects on the influence of scope management on project management achievement and had no moderating effects on the influence of schedule and cost management on it. Normative commitment enhanced the effects of scope, schedule, and cost management on project management achievement. The finding that affective commitment, which represents attachment to and sense of unity with an organization, had no effects on cost management as a characteristic of a project with limited resources was different from findings of previous studies. Representing one's willingness to remain in an organization, continuance commitment had negative effects on the influence of scope management on project management achievement and no effects on the influence of schedule and cost management on it. These findings were different from those of previous studies since a project as a temporary organization had opposite characteristics to continuance commitment. These findings demonstrate that organizational commitment, which has been investigated for organizational achievement, brings about different outcomes in a project organization.
