관계형 데이터베이스를 이용한 CAD 데이터의 관리와 응용

초록

Requirement of data compatibility with widespread of information sharing throgh networks accelerates shift of data management method from files to integrated data management environment with DBMS; Database Management System. In general Data are guaranteed independence, integrity and security by DBMS. However,geometric models created with CAD system are tied-up still in files because of its complex and object-oriented data structure. Therefore it is not easy to be accessed by the other systems and limits its usablity. In this paper, Entity-relation data structure for geometric models is developed and saved in RDB; Relational Database. General RDBMS manages RDB for geometric model to be independent by SQL; the standard query language to data access. In addition, granulating a geometric model into lower levels is performed to allow flexibility and extensibility of CAD data structure through restruction according to their respective requirements. This increases CAD data compatibility and security during information sharing through networks.
