Rhelogical and Mechanical Properties of Multi-wall Carbon Nanotube in Thermotropic Liquid Crystal Polymer Nanocomposites

초록

Thermotropic liquid crystal polymer(TLCP) nanocomposites reinforced with a pristine multi-walled carbon nanotube(p-MWNT) and a carboxylated MWNT (c-MWNT) were prepared by melt compounding using twin-screw extruder. The TLCP/c-MWNT nanocomposites exhibited more distinct shear thinning behavior as compared to TLCP/p-WNT over the whole frequency range. This could be attributed that the notube-nanotube or nanotube-polymer interactions were more dominant and some interconnected or network-like structures formed in the TLCP/c-MWNT nanocomposites.
