분산분석(ANOVA)을 이용한 금속 재료의 방탄 성능 평가

When a projectile collides at high speed with metal armor, complex nonlinear deformations and thermo-mechanical interactions develop between the projectile and the armor. This results in significant challenges in evaluating the key properties that govern ballistic resistance. In this study, a statistical analysis of the mechanical properties of metal armor materials is conducted through Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to assess their impacts on ballistic resistance performance. A finite element model for ballistic impact analysis on metal materials is developed in accordance with NATO standardization using LS-Dyna software. For the impact cases, impact analyses are performed at velocities of 630m/s under non-penetration conditions and 960 m/s under penetration conditions. ANOVA is applied to each condition to evaluate the effects of the material properties. Experimental points are established using a central composite design based on the base properties of Armox500T. The influence of key mechanical properties of the metal materials on ballistic performance is assessed using a full quadratic surface model, and the interaction effects among properties are also examined through ANOVA.
