Uncertainty Propagation Analysis of a Rotating Blade considering Random Fields

초록

The vibration of a rotating blade are determined by operating conditions and the system parameters such as material properties of the blade and geometry. Among them, the system parameters always have uncertainties because of manufacturing tolerances and material irregularity. Since the uncertainty of the system parameters leads to the uncertainty of transient responses, reliability based design needs to be conducted through the uncertainty propagation analysis of the system. For structural systems such as the rotating beam, the system parameters are random fields since the uncertainty of the parameters is the function of spatial variables. Because of the parameter random fields, the transient responses of the system are also random fields. Therefore, an uncertainty propagation analysis of transient responses considering the parameter random fields needs to be conducted. In this paper, an uncertainty propagation analysis of the rotating blade considering parameter random fields is conducted using the stochastic spectral method.
