Microstructural influences on consolidation behavior of titanium metal matrix composites
초록
Process conditions are important in controlling densification behavior, and hence the achievable levels of consolidation. The explicit representation of fiber arrangements is modeled, and is fully coupled with elasto-viscoplastic deformation behavior of matrix materials. The evolution of porosity has been measured together with the microstructural changes of the materials during consolidation. In order to determine the influences of microstructural evolution on densification behavior, two types of possible mechanisms such as grain growth and dynamic recrystallization have been analyzed, and subsequent mechanical properties have been investigated in terms of the microstructural changes.
