공간의존성에 대한 이해와 공간회귀분석의 활용

초록

Despite the growing academic interests in intergovernmental interaction such as intergovernmental competition, policy spillover effect, and policy diffusion, empirical studies examining intergovernmental interaction are very limited in Korea. We introduce the spatial regression analysis which incorporates the spatial dependence induced by intergovernmental interaction in the regression model. Following the logical procedures of the spatial regression analysis, we introduce criteria for structuring spatial dependence and constructing the spatial weight matrix, methods for testing spatial dependence, procedures for selecting proper spatial regression models, and methods for selecting proper estimation methods. We also provide the results of a case study in which we applied the procedures and techniques of the spatial regression analysis to the local birth subsidy policy. The results of the study show that, in searching for the proper spatial weight matrix, the proper spatial regression model, and the proper estimation method, we need to consider comprehensively theories, various selecting criteria and techniques based on statistics, and estimation results of alternative spatial regression models.
