초록

Night ventilation in the cooling period can remove overheated indoor air through natural-cross-ventilation at night and provide acceptable indoor air quality to residents' of residential buildings as well as a pleasant thermal environment. It also provides passive cooling effects in residential building with minimal energy consumption. In this study, the one-year field long term monitoring was carried out in twelve residential buildings to survey the effects of floor level on night-time cross-ventilation in residential buildings in summer. The sample housing units were analyzed during natural-cross-ventilation and the thermal environment of the samples were mostly acceptable level. It was found that the night-time ventilation is not suitable in residential buildings when the outdoor air is higher than 26℃. And the occupant behaviour and building factors such as floor level influenced the effectiveness of the night-time cross-ventilation in residential buildings.
