수도권택지개발의 분포 및 특성에 관한 연구

초록

Korea has gone through rapid urbanization along with vigorous economic growth, and the population inflow to the cities has been very large. The cities have achieved noticeable growth on the surface due to this rapid urbanization, but urban problems related to housing, transportation, and environment also began to appear. Among these problems, housing shortage was one of the most serious one because it constitutes the most significant part of people’s lives who reside in the city. In order to provide solutions to the problem, Incheon and Kyunggi region, the environs of the metropolitan city Seoul, engaged in a number of housing development projects to meet the excess demands for housing by the rapidly increasing population. Furthermore, with the advent of local autonomy, where spontaneous development of the local governments is desired, it is true that the local governments paid much attention to housing development as the means to local development, revitalization of local economy, and expansion of the local influence. In fact, although the originally aim of housing development is to provide housings to people, it also brings subsequent ripple effects with public development projects and investments of social overhead capital. Nevertheless, in spite of this apparent fact that housing development projects bring enormous outcomes to the local economy, studies and examinations on the overall housing development are still inefficient. Therefore, this study puts its focus on the following. First, the distribution of the housing development in the metropolitan regions, thus examines the present status and the attributes of housing development projects in Kyounggi province and Incheon. Second, it will classify the housing development regions around Kwangwhamun and study their distribution.Third, it will analyze and evaluate the time series of the overall housing development projects.
