This paper introduces a millimeter-wave (mmWave) bistatic orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) sensing testbed with over-the-air (OTA) synchronization for real-time target localization and tracking. Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is widely recognized as a key design objective for 6G networks; however, real-time bistatic ISAC prototypes are still in their infancy. To demonstrate the feasibility of sensing passive targets using a communication waveform on telecommunication equipment, a 28GHz OFDM-based radar bistatic testbed is built with 1.92GHz bandwidth. This testbed exhibits tight synchronization for fast beam steering (FBS) and reference symbol boundary alignment. Likewise, the OTA synchronization enables real-time data collection without cable connections between the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX), FBS at the RX, and signal processing for target tracking and localization. Indoor experiments demonstrate that the proposed testbed achieves accuracies of 11.8cm and 24.8cm in 80% of cases while only consuming 4.47% of the time domain resources at 32 beam sweeps per second. This paper, thereby, demonstrates the practical application of ISAC in real-world scenarios.
