혁명이후, 1960년대 쿠바영화의 표현양식 구축 과정 연구

초록

The Cuban cinema of the 1960s already began when the Cuban revolutionary armed forces made a triumphal entry into Havana, the capital of Cuba. The revolution was a cause for the essential reorientation of all parts of Cuban cinema shaped in the previous era, not only its production, distribution, and exhibition, but also its forms and contents and its goals and aims. However, since Cuban cinema was strongly influenced by American cinema in the era before the revolution, in terms of both the film industry and form, it was in the state that it is difficult for it to independently and also creatively establish its own ground. In order to build its own film industry and forms of film, the revolutionary government pursued the goal for building its own film industry through the cooperation with filmmakers in European, especially socialist countries. The Cuban Cinema’s cooperation with socialist countries for assistance shows that the Cuban cinema of the 1960s, its forms and contents, were diversified, while being influenced by the socialist films, especially their experimental and creative aspects. By bringing in the realistic aspect from Italy, the relationship of subordination from the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, and East Germany, and the New Wave from France, the revolutionary government was able to shape what their revolutionary movies looked like. Through its cooperaton with socialist countries and filmmakers, the revolutionary government was able to set up the concept of Imperfect Cinema, a symbol of the independence of the 1960s Cuban cinema.
