The ‘dance music’ became the dance ‘music’ through the Baroque era. This change reflects the process of modernization in the field of music. Dances in Baroque era developed and get more complicated with the invention of the sophisticated system of choreography. In this process, the rhetoric or the rhetorical thinking also helped to formulate a new, dramatic dance. The stylized dance of the mid-18th century was strongly influenced by the dance and rhetorical thinking of the time. It laid foundation for music to be an autonomous, that is ‘modern’ art.
