Poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)(PVP) and nano-silver are promising candidates for biomedical applications because of their biocompatibility and antibacterial efficacy. In this research, three kinds of silver nano particles were prepared by seed mediate growth method and added to electrospinning solutions. PVP/nano-silver composites were prepared by electrospinning of 1-15wt% PVP solutions(containing 1-100ppm nano-silver) in ethanol. The antibacterial efficacy of PVP/nano-silver composites was assessed according to AATCC Test Method 147-1998 and investigated the reduction area of two kinds of bacteria; Staphylococus aureus and Klebsiela pneumoniae. PVP/nano-silver webs inhibited more efficiently the growth of the test bacteria than PVP webs prepared without nano-silver.
