Vertebroplasty vs Kyphoplasty - Biomechanial Behavior under Repetitive Loading Conditions

초록

Under repetitive loading to 100,000 cycles, vertebrae treated with Vertebroplasty did not change either morphologically or biomechanically. Fractured vertebrae treated with kyphoplasty are more likely to show pregressive loss of height and increased maximal strain. The clinical significance of this finding is worrisome, but as yet uncertain.
