초록

Hydrogen energy has been identified as one of the most favorable renewable energy sources due to growing global concerns about energy. Various studies have recently been conducted on the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), with an emphasis on creating effective electrocatalysts that can enable the reaction to employ lower energy consumption. MXenes are a newly established class of 2D materials that comprise transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides. Because of their outstanding characteristics, which include high electrical conductivity, a large active surface area they can be used effectively in HER. This review offers a broad analysis of the latest developments and innovative strategies in MXene synthesis and development. The review then concludes the challenges and opportunities for electrocatalysts based on MXene. It stipulates a guide for the potential establishment of novel and effective electrocatalysts derived from MXenes to produce hydrogen.
