Langmuir-Blodgett Films of Dicyanopyrazine Porphyrins

We have fabricated dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin monolayer and multilayer films on gold and quartz substrates using the Langmuir-Blodget (LB) technique. X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopies (XPS and UPS) have been used to examine atomic compositions and electronic properties of the dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin films, respectively. UV-vis spectroscopy has been used to study electronic transitions of the dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin films and their response to HCl vapor.
